1. Acceptance
By downloading or using NOREN ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms are an agreement between you and Farkas József ("I", "me", "my"), an individual developer based in Hungary.
2. The service
NOREN is a daily logic puzzle app for iOS. It provides:
- daily puzzles (Slitherlink, Queens, Hashi and Masyu) with a weekly difficulty rotation;
- a weekly challenge (Fusuma);
- global, country and friends leaderboards, streaks and tier rankings;
- friends features;
- Words to Keep, a collection of saved quotes;
- an optional Premium subscription with additional features, such as archive access, replays and unlimited saved quotes, as described in the App.
The App is provided "as is". I may modify, suspend or discontinue features, with reasonable notice where the change materially affects Premium features you have paid for.
3. Accounts
3.1 Anonymous use and accounts
You can use NOREN without signing in. When you submit your first puzzle result, the App creates an anonymous account (see the Privacy Policy, section 3.1), so your results can appear on leaderboards and you can subscribe to Premium. Anonymous accounts are deleted automatically as described in the Privacy Policy, section 9; an account with an active Premium subscription is never deleted automatically. To save your progress across devices, choose a username and use the friends features, you must sign in with Apple. You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA) to create an account.
3.2 Your responsibilities
- Choose a username that is not offensive, misleading or infringing on others' rights.
- Keep your Apple account secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
3.3 Termination
I may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, cheat or abuse the leaderboards, or harm other users. You can delete your account at any time in the App under Profile > Settings > Account > Delete account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use bots, scripts or other tools to solve puzzles or manipulate times or rankings;
- reverse engineer the App or extract its source code or puzzle solutions;
- use the App unlawfully;
- harass or harm other users through the friends or leaderboard features;
- attempt unauthorised access to the App's systems.
Leaderboard manipulation may lead to removal of results and suspension of your account.
5. Premium subscription
5.1 Plans
NOREN Premium is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, purchased through Apple In-App Purchase. Current prices are shown in the App and may vary by region.
5.2 Billing and renewal
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.
Deleting your NOREN account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it separately with Apple.
5.3 Refunds
All payments are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. I cannot issue refunds directly.
5.4 Price changes
If a subscription price changes, Apple will notify you in accordance with App Store rules and, where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies.
6. Intellectual property
All content in NOREN, including the puzzles, graphics, quotes collection, name, typography, icons and software, is owned by Farkas József or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for non-commercial purposes. The NOREN name and logo may not be used without prior written permission.
7. Leaderboards and rankings
Rankings, tiers and percentiles are calculated automatically. I may adjust ranking algorithms and thresholds, and remove results caused by cheating or technical errors. Rankings have no monetary or prize value.
8. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. I do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. Puzzles are designed to have a unique solution, but I cannot guarantee that every puzzle is free of errors.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of streaks or ranking positions. My total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim, or €10, whichever is greater. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. Please contact me first at jozsef.farkas@gmail.com. I will try to resolve any issue within 30 days.
11. Changes to these Terms
When I change these Terms, I will update the effective date above. For material changes, I will inform you in advance through the App or other appropriate means. If you continue to use the App after the changes take effect, the updated Terms apply.
12. Apple
These Terms are between you and me, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Your use of the App is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
